We are appointment only, if you have donations, we have 3 donation bins in our car park. This is to ensure our animals are comfortable at all times.
First of all have a look at all of our lovely animals and see if they could be suitable match .
You will then need to fill out an Adoption Enquiry Form. If you need help, please call us on 01279 501547 and a member of staff will help you.
If we believe you are suitable candidate, we will be in touch to arrange an appointment within 10 days. If you do not here from us, then unfortunately you have not been successful.
The terms and conditions to adopting an animal can be found here.
We discuss this with you, should you have a successful meeting with the animal. The cost covers core vaccinations, neutering and all the care the animal receives here.
Please visit out Giving Up A Pet page for more information. Please feel free to call us if you would like to talk to someone.
All  of our animals are assessed for a minimum of 7 days before being available for adoption. Our team will discuss this with you in the first week and make the decision as to whether we think it is suitable to return the animal. When signing over a pet to ARC, we become the legal owner and we will ensure that you have given the matter a great deal of thought. ARC reserves the right to hold onto the animal if we do not believe it would be in the best interest of the animal to return it.
After 7 days, the animal will go on our website for adoption, and you would have to apply for the animal through the normal procedure.
We always need volunteers! Please call us on 01279 501547 or email to enquire.
Our volunteers must be 18 or over
Sometimes bites are an isolated incident and we will always ask you as much information as possible before deciding to bring the dog in for assessment.
We assess all dogs before making a decision to bring them into ARC. It’s important that all of the team and the animals are safe at all times.
If we are able to help, we will then talk to you about the next steps.
If we decide the animal is not safe, we cannot take it.
All rescue charities are seeing an unprecedented volume of people wanting to relinquish animals.
We do have waiting lists for all animals, but we are working through it as fast as we can.
Â
Rescue animals do take extra care. It can take them weeks, months or even years to settle, depending on the animal. The kennels and cat house are stressful for our animals, and we can never guarantee how an animal will behave when they go to a new home.
It is important you carefully consider adopting an animal. You will need time and patience to help the animal settle. We are always a phone call away if you need to talk or need advice.
If you feel you must return the animal, then you will need to call us to arrange a suitable date to return the animal. Please be aware, due to having a waiting list, we may already be full again, in which case, you will need to wait for an available space.
Please note: all payments are non-refundable, therefore, please think carefully before adopting one of our animals.
