A Paws for Success

                       The Quizzers

.                  The talented Quiz Master Richard had the audience of 17 teams (109 players) battling it out through 11 rounds.  With the tension mounting at round 5, we had “The Roding Raiders” followed closely by “The Old Nags”  and “ If Carlsberg did legal….” in the lead.  By the end of round 10, things changed with “Pedigree Chums” winning 1st place, followed by “The Roding Raiders” in 2nd and joint 3rd went to “Hot Dogs & Cool Cats” and “The Periodic Table”.

Everyone had a great time thinking up Team names, some of which included Mike and the Alcoholics, Boiled Egg Heads, Universally Challenged, Let’s get Quizzical, Stortford Doggers, 50 Something, The Mighty Roo, Clever Cloggs, I thought this was Speed Dating, DENSA and the unforgettable Mrs. Slocombe’s Pussy!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      kind sponsors of this event

Food once again was provided by Fish’n’Chicken in Thorley, whose food was hot, delicious and served on time with a smile

Through ticket sales and the generosity on the night with raffle tickets sold by our  manager Vicki and Kathy, we raised a whopping £1,033.29, which will go towards our every growing vet bills, which include covering the cost of an x-ray on a year old dog who has possible joint issues with his hind legs.  This poor dog had an awful start in life as a stray.

This was a fantastic result for one of our fundraisers Kathy Tye who was determined to beat her figure of last year, where £724.38 was raised.

Thank you everyone for supporting us in making this a very successful event.
